October, 2018 – May, 2019
Wow, the winter “Season” at our home base in Cypress Woods RV Resort, Ft. Myers just flew by. From January through March we almost needed a vacation from our vacation due to all of the activities. We played as much pickle ball as we could, attended dinners, dances, various parties and events and spent time with dear friends. I learned to play mahjongg and became a member of the Social Committee. Did we have fun? Yes indeed! Were we busy? Absolutely!
Below are photos from just a couple of the “happenings”.
Then, suddenly it was April and folks began to leave Cypress Woods for their summer destinations. Day by day the park became quieter until only a few folks were left. Our original plan to leave in mid-April was disrupted due a planned upgrade of our RV lot.
The Lot Upgrade
We started planning the upgrade with Mr. Palm Tree in late February. By late March/early April we had most of the old landscaping removed and replaced with new trees and plants.
What we didn’t have yet were the pavers as they take 6 – 8 weeks from the time of order to delivery. So, we sat on our lot waiting and revising our summer schedule. Finally, in order to facilitate the prep work required for paving, we moved our rig to the lot next door. Our wonderful neighbors had graciously offered to let us use their lot while our pavers went down. (Thank you so much Henry and Jacqueline Stevens. Such great neighbors!) At long last, the pavers were delivered – three truckloads worth. We had stacks of pavers everywhere.
We were excited to see the progress but just couldn’t stay to see the completed project. We had an appointment for some roof repair on the RV and were forced to head north on May 16. At that point approximately half the lot was covered in pavers.

On the Road Again
So, we’re off on our Summer 2019 adventure. Where are we headed this summer? We’ll let you know soon.
