Have you ever wondered where folks that live in Florida “retire” to? Then you’ve come to the right place. My husband and I owned a house near St. Augustine, FL. which we sold in March, 2019. At that time we officially became full-time RVers. Our plan is to winter on our RV lot in Ft Myers, FL. and travel to cooler climes during the summer. Does that make us reverse “snow birds”? We hope you ride along with us as we embrace this full-time RV lifestyle.
This is us
Bill hails from North Carolina and is a graduate of Colorado State University and Florida Institute of Technology. He is a die-hard Tar Heel, CSU and Denver Broncos fan. He is a retired software engineer and enjoys travel, photography, reading, bicycling, playing pickleball, and working on the computer.
Luwana was born and raised in Ohio and is a die-hard Buckeye. She is a graduate of Lipscomb University, Vanderbilt University, and Virginia Tech. She retired from teaching at the college level but also did some software engineering and corporate training. Her hobbies include traveling, reading, bicycling, playing pickleball, and dabbling with photography.
This is our traveling companion
This is Dawn. She joined our family in summer 2020 and is learning about life on the road. She’s a sweetie but a bit timid.
Before Dawn we traveled with these two
Unfortunately both Cody and Pepper crossed the Rainbow Bridge in September, 2019. They were sweet dogs and great travelers. They definitely left paw prints on our hearts.
This is our current rig
In May of 2018 we upgraded from our original rig to a 40 foot DRV Mobile Suite and a 3500 Dodge HD Ram.
This is our old rig
Before upgrading we traveled with a 38 foot Heartland Big Horn fifth wheel pulled by a 3500 Dodge Ram dually diesel.
Here are some of our journeys.
